This year we have a senior who wants to teach kindergarten as a career, so for the entire year she gets to spend 6 hours a week working alongside our kindergarten teacher . Today she had her first solo lesson. Ms Izzy taught kindergarten all about patterns under the guidance of Mrs. Romesburg.
Way to go Izzy, we are so proud of you!

It's officially senior year for the class of 2026! They started the first full week of senior year with Senior Sunrise where they met together to watch the sun rise on their last year of high school.

What an amazing first week of school we have had! So much fun that we forgot to post about our first day chapel! We started and ended our day with worship and prayer on last Wednesday in our secondary school and it was so great, we are definitely going to do it again. We were even able to pray over some of our visiting alumni before they head back to college this year!

Our teachers and staff are ready to serve and protect our students. We are pleased to announce that every teacher has been CPR and basic first aid certified. We would love to say no dummies were harmed in this certification process but as you can see we had a couple CPR mannequin fatalities!

Join us in officially welcoming Ms. Kiera Brummet, our social work intern for the semester. Some of you were able to meet Ms. Kiera last year when she was able to stop by and get to know our students while shadowing mrs Maddie. But now she is ready to take a more prominent role in helping our middle schoolers transition to secondary school. Ms Kiera is a Master of Social Work (MSW) graduate student currently enrolled at Indiana Wesleyan University and graduated with her Bachelor’s Degree in Developmental Family Science from Purdue University Lafayette in 2023. During her studies, she had the incredible opportunity to study abroad in Costa Rica and Ireland, where I learned about diverse family dynamics and healthcare systems. Having worked as a Developmental Therapist, supporting children in the areas of speech, sensory processing, and physical motor delays, Ms. Kiera will bring support across all grades. An official welcome to Ms Brummet for the 2025-2026 school year!

At Calumet Christian School, we strive to shape more than strong minds. We are building Christlike character and a community grounded in Biblical truth. Please pray that our school culture will reflect the fruits of the Spirit: “love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control” (Galatians 5:22–23). Pray that kindness, humility, integrity, and truth define who we are within our walls and beyond.
🛡️ Health and Safety
We trust the Lord to protect our students, staff, and families in every area of life. Psalm 121:7 says, “The Lord will keep you from all harm. He will watch over your life.” Pray for physical health, emotional wellness, and safety throughout the year. And yes, feel free to lift up our ice pack supply in prayer too. They tend to be our most-requested remedy!

We are excited to welcome many new families into the CCS community. Pray that they feel peace in the transition, find deep friendships, and feel a sense of belonging in their new school home. More than anything, pray that each student and parent grows closer to Christ during their time here. “Therefore welcome one another as Christ has welcomed you, for the glory of God.” (Romans 15:7)

God has faithfully provided new teachers for the year ahead. Pray that they feel supported, equipped, and welcomed into the CCS family. Ask God to give them wisdom, strong relationships with students, and boldness to teach with excellence and a Biblical worldview. “And I will give you shepherds after my own heart, who will feed you with knowledge and understanding.” (Jeremiah 3:15)
🍎 Our Amazing Staff
Every member of the CCS team matters. From the cleaning crew and office staff to aides, teachers, and administrators, each one is part of the mission. Pray for rest as they finish summer, vision for the year ahead, and unity as they serve together. “Let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.” (Galatians 6:9)
📚 Academic Growth
Learning brings both accomplishments and challenges. Pray that our students would grow in perseverance, wisdom, and confidence. “Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men.” (Colossians 3:23) May this be a year of growth, mastery, and renewed joy in learning.
🎶 Chapel and Spiritual Formation
Chapel is more than a routine. It is a weekly time for students to worship, hear the Word of God, and experience His presence. Pray that the truth takes root in their hearts, that they hear God’s voice clearly, and that they respond in faith. “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.” (John 10:27) We are praying for salvation, deep spiritual growth, and authentic moments with the Lord.
🤝 Friendships and Community
Friendships formed at school can last a lifetime. Pray that new relationships are built on kindness, honesty, and shared faith, and that existing friendships are strengthened. “As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.” (Proverbs 27:17)
